Until 2002 all of the Gift Shop products were made right here in our little Teddy Bear factory in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Because of low sales and high prices we have switched to a China made bear.

Why do we only charge in US$? Well 95% of our sales are purchased from the USA. Some gifts are shipped to Canadian addresses but generally the purchaser is in the USA. Maintaining one store is an expensive endeavor, while maintaining two stores, one in Canadian dollars and the other in US, was not cost effective. Another reason is that we now purchase all of the product in US dollars.

When we first started online in 1995, we only offered US pricing at that time. We did receive many calls or emails (1 to 3 per week) from fellow Canadians complaining that we only had US dollars listed on our site, and that they refused to shop on our web site.

Giving in to the pressure, we set up the second store in Canadian dollars. In the two years we had the Canadian dollar store open, we did not receive more the 1 to 3 orders per month. This resulted in the closure of our Canadian dollar store.

Not happy? Cast your vote for another Canadian store by placing an order now in US$. With enough votes from Canadian buyers, we will reopen the Canadian store.
